Re: A Blog Is Born
My fascination with public speaking (in print) was born in 2006 with my very first blog.
I needed a place to unpack my emotions while traveling the world of International Adoption.
Originally, I wanted to adopt a baby girl from China. No one told me both mom and dad had to be thirty years old to begin the process.
Are you kidding me?!
My husband was thirty, but I was twenty eight (and heartbroken). What a dumb rule.
We’d been married five years and I didn’t want to wait any longer. Once you decide to start your family, patience flies out the window. And International adoption is a thirteen story building.
My blog turned out to be a soft place to land.
Any therapist will tell you the best way to sort through your feelings is to write them down. Writing has always been my passion. Even in high school, I quit chorus to join a creative writing group. Putting pen to paper is not a problem for me.
Inviting strangers to walk around the inside of my heart took some getting used to. What began as an online journal (just for me) grew into a cyber support group.
My lifeline.
I wanted you to know why I started blogging. It’s how I got here. My ultimate goal is for this newsletter to replace my blog.
I’m excited to share my stories and get to know you!
